Message from the Dehiwala Y's Men President
Welcome to the online home of the Y's Men's and Menettes'
Club of Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. We invite you to explore our site and
become familiar with our mission and work. In particular, we encourage
you to read about our
Tsunami Relief
activities, as they became a
major focus of our work since the island was devastated in December,
2004. We also hope that you will consider supporting our work either by
becoming a donor, or joining us as a member if you live in the area.
The Dehiwala Y's Men's Club started in 1981 on the 13th
of June with just thirteen members. Since then, we have grown to over
twenty members, and established the Menettes' Club as well. Members
volunteer to come together into a Y's Men's Club because they feel that
in working together they can give freely of themselves and also enjoy
the fellowship that comes from engaging with people who share ideals.
The Dehiwala Club is proud to have
won the award for Best Club in the Sri Lanka Region in 2003, 2004, 2005,
2006 and 2007. We are an active club with members who are passionate
about service and living up to the Y's Men's motto: "acknowledging the
duty that accompanies every right."
